TEAM VISION

LEARN TO PLAY. After the first level of function specialization at 13U, athletes at 14U (beginner level III) will be designated to one major and one secondary position. During practices they will still work on all the fundamentals, but they will start to get a major amount of reps at the fundamentals that would be more recurrent for their primary and secondary positions. It is expected that the 14U plays 5:1 system the majority of the season. Athletes will be attending one extra strength & conditioning session (1h/week), a specific program that will be focusing on the general physical abilities that are necessary for the volleyball athlete (once athletes will already have developed general motor coordination and general strength at younger ages): lower body power, upper body speed, midline strength, joint protection, jump coordination, jump power, jump resistance and specific game resistance. Libero and defensive specialist players may be designated, at the discretion of the coaching staff.
