LEARN TO PRACTICE. After the first competitive season at 12U, athletes at 13U (beginner level II) will have developed a vast and solid generalist background and some level of function specialization will be introduced at the beginning of the season. However, since all athletes are supposed to have a good generalist background, at the discretion of the coaching staff, athletes will have their positions altered, in case the team needs and/or the coaching staff considers it would be worth it for the athlete development. Conditioning is focused on motor learning, coordination and improvement of movement repertoire. Some level of general strength and resistance will also be developed, with the major goal of protecting the athlete’s most used/fragile joints. Libero and defensive specialist players may be designated, at the discretion of the coaching staff.
