LOCATION: The Pavilion at Beantree - 43635 Greenway Corporate Dr, Ashburn, VA 20147 (an e-mail confirming the clinic with all details will be sent on day before the clinic - the e-mail will be sent to the account e-mail with Sports Engine).

ATTACKING AND BLOCKING

Go through the basic mechanics of the attack: footwork, timing, arm swing, wrist snap and landing, as well as decision making based on the opponent block positioning. Learn the nuances that make the attack different for outside hitters, middle hitters, right side hitters and the back row attack. Players will also go over the footwork of the blocking, body and arms/hands positioning, how to make an offensive and a defensive block, and of course, get many repetitions on both fundamentals.

PASSING & DEFENSE

Learn and review the fundamentals of passing and defense. Passing is how we call the serve receive and we will focus on the control of the platform and the ball, footwork, reading the server and you will get quality repetitions. For defense, although it is common to use the same fundamental, the underhand pass, players will experience proper set up position, dig a variety of attacks and reading the hitters in numerous defensive situations. Get many repetitions with quality!

SETTING

The setting clinics will be limited to six setters per session and players will be a part of the attacking and blocking and passing and defense sessions. Setters will have specific coaching and will experience a variety of setting drills that will focus on the details of setting: quality of the pass, footwork and hand positioning. Setters will also receive training in aspects such as decision-making, dumping, running different offensive systems and the importance of a setter inside the team. Setters will also train setting in system (good passes) and out of system (bad passes), and learn the differences between setting for the first ball side out and in transition from defense to offense.

SERVING

The one fundamental that nobody on the court will try to make you miss and you do not depend on anybody else is the serve. You have full control of it. For the course of one hour athletes will be coached to improve the technique and accuracy of serving. Clinics will go over basic mechanics of standing float, jump float and the top spin serve and Loudoun Elite coaches will give you simple cues to help you master this fundamental that is so important in the modern volleyball. Players will also be coached on tactical aspects of the serve and how a good serve can work for your team. Serving is not just to send the ball over and start the rally, serving is much more than that!

LIBERO

It is very important to have good liberos and defensive specialists. Clinics will focus on technical aspects of serve receive and defense such as ready position, footwork, platform and ball control, overhead reception and defense and other techniques. These one day camps are open to all high school aged players who want to improve their back row skills. Hitters, setters and players of other positions who want to develop their back row game and become more complete and all-around players are welcome and encouraged to join.

HIGH SCHOOL PREP

To wrap up the summer program, the High School Prep is for players who want to get that little extra amount of reps or to get back into good form before high school season. Players will get many, many repetitions in all fundamentals to get ready for tryouts. You do not need a club affiliation and you can attend individually or bring your whole team to join. We aim to offer the opportunity players want to train before they start their high school season. Register now and join us!

HIGH SCHOOL RISING FRESHMAN PREP

Loudoun Elite knows that the game changes when you enter High School. We designed the High School Rising Freshman Prep for the rising 9th graders to get even more reps right before their high school tryouts. If you are a rising freshman, do not miss this unique opportunity and join us to get your last reps on serving, passing, setting, hitting, digging and blocking. Sharpen your skills on the last weekend before HS tryouts!

MIDDLE SCHOOL FUNDAMENTALS

With the same philosophy of the High School Camps, the Middle School Camps are for players who are trying out for their middle school teams and that already have some experience in the sport of volleyball. Sessions will focus on the basic mechanics of each fundamental:

ATTACKING (and Setting)

SERVE RECEIVE (and Setting)

DEFENSE (and Setting)

Setting will be included in all clinics as the set will happen before the attack and after serve receive and defense. We recommend players who want specifically to improve their serving to attend the specific clinics for serving.

MIDDLE SCHOOL PREP

Just like our High School Prep, the Middle School Prep will give players at the MS level the opportunity to get a great amount of reps before middle school season. You will get many, many repetitions in all fundamentals to get ready for tryouts. You do not need a club affiliation and you can attend individually or bring your whole team to join. This is a great opportunity for players who want to train before they start their school season. Register now and join us!
