15 & Under Team Vision

COMPETE TO PERFORM. Loudoun Elite program considers that the athlete who starts to play at age 12 or younger will be a beginner in volleyball until U14. At U15, our program considers that the athlete will have developed an overall background and will be capable of quickly and consistently adapt to any scenario that may be presented on the court. At this age the athlete will be considered an intermediate athlete level I (from U15 through U17 athletes will be considered intermediate level). The main goal for the 15U is to focus the development on their primary position, with recurrent training on their secondary position.  Team-wise the focus will be on speeding up the game with an increased offensive and defensive repertoire. Athletes will be attending (2h/week) to the strength & conditioning program, a specific conditioning (extra team practice) that will be focusing on the general physical abilities that are necessary for the volleyball athlete (once athletes will already have developed general motor coordination and general strength at younger ages): lower body power, upper body speed, midline strength, joint protection, jump coordination, jump power, jump resistance and specific game resistance. One libero and one defensive specialist may be designated at the discretion of the coaching staff. Some recruiting will be introduced to players and parents.
