POSITIVE EXPERIENCE - TEAM - COMMUNITY
Coach Josi Pinheiro is a native of Sao Paulo, Brazil and the founder of Loudoun County Volleyball. She played for the Brazilian Youth National Team for indoor and beach volleyball, and has collected international playing experience followed by a successful college career at University of Hawaii Hilo as a lead Outside Hitter who helped UHH capture the Pac West Conference Title.
Her successful college career led her to earn an assistant coach and international recruiter position at Towson University in Maryland. She recruited 6 international players who led Towson University to one of the best seasons in program history. Pinheiro assisted a Tiger team that went 25-4, finished the CAA schedule with a perfect 12-0 mark and won 18 straight matches. After transferring to Winthrop University, Josi decided to leave the competitive college level to pursue her passion in developing the youth generation of volleyball players.
Our founder is a passionate volleyball player and coach. She understands the tiniest nuances of the sport, and knows how to quickly adapt according to the game. Furthermore, she knows how to coach her athletes so they can do the same. She has an outstanding relationship with her athletes and she has the power to make all of them to commit to the greatest goal - the team goal. By being an experienced athlete, Josi transfers all of her knowledge about how to manage their feelings on the court and take charge of those feelings.
